Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro LED Fog Pod Light with Bracket. Now this three inch fog pod light is going to give you bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. This is going to be a great option to consider if you're thinking about upgrading your fog light situation on your vehicle. And this is going to be an easy installation virtually anywhere on your vehicle with the included aluminum U bracket and hardware.

And I do have the bracket installed on this light with the hardware. So you are gonna get the hardware to mount the bracket to the light itself. That's going to allow you then to adjust the angle to whatever's gonna be best for your application. And then you'll tighten down the hardware to hold that angle and then you'll get the hardware to bolt the bracket onto your vehicle. This is what the bracket looks like when it's not in use.

Again, it's a very sturdy aluminum U bracket, so it's gonna be a very easy installation, allowing you a lot of flexibility as to where you want to mount this. And as you can see, I do have this connected to my power source already. And what you're seeing here is one of my favorite features of these lights. It's the back light. And on this light, the back light is white.

So this is gonna be great for a stylish touch or for more visibility when you're not using the main beam. I'm gonna go ahead and turn my studio lights off just to give you a better idea of what this is going to look like in low light or dark conditions. And then that's what it looks like from a distance. And then I'm gonna activate the main beam just to show you that, and you can see the difference between the back light and then the main beam. And then I'm gonna bring that over here and try to shine that on the wall behind me, giving you a view of that beam.

So this fog pattern beam is gonna give you high intensity light and an extremely wide field of view, as you can see there. The the light actually has a color temperature of 6,000 kelvin cool white. So that cool white color is gonna match most factory lights. It's a crisp, clean, precise color, so it's gonna give you a lot of visibility and a lot of clarity. This has a raw lumen rating of 5,796 lumens and a measured lumen rating of 3000. I'm gonna go ahead and turn my studio lights back on and just shine that again on the wall behind me just so you can see just how bright that is, even with my studio lights on. So let's go ahead and continue taking a closer look at this. The peak beam intensity that this offers is 11,900 candela. And in case you don't know, candela ratings measure the directional light output, and it's how anything is rated where you want lights shining in a specific direction. Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output, like your regular light bulbs where you want lights shining in all directions. But for more detailed descriptions of those ratings, you can visit this product page on our website or Diode Dynamics provides additional information that you can find. The power draw on that main beam is 2.7 amps, and the backlight is 0.03 amps. Now this light is designed with a newer technology known as custom TIR optics. That TIR stands for total internal reflection. So unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't great at focusing all of the light where you want it. This custom designed large TIR optic actually collects and focuses all the light forward very efficiently. And from there, instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly onto the surface of this lens. This is going to prevent the normal efficiency loss you see with an outside lens. So when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, as you probably know, you're gonna lose some of that efficiency. You could lose up to 10% of that light just from its shining through that lens. So by making it as part of this lens, you're gonna pick up some efficiency there. This does include the industry standard integrated Deutsche style connector, and this is what that pigtail looks like when it's not plugged in or wired up. And this also has a breather patch here at the back of the light. Let me see if I can bring that around so you can see. That breather patch is gonna prevent any moisture buildup. And as you've already been seeing here, we do have these heat sinks and they're gonna do a great job of dissipating the heat quickly to increase the longevity of this light. Now this light has been built with high intensity LED chips and it does feature a durable powder coated aluminum construction. This heavy duty construction is going to withstand things such as extreme temperatures, corrosion, and vibration. Testing is completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components on your vehicle. And an interesting note, Diode Dynamics designed, engineered and assembled this light right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the greater St. Louis area. Now just some overall measurements, measuring the width from end to end, we're sitting right at three and a quarter inches. And the height on that light is gonna be the same three and a quarter inches from end to end. And then with the bracket included here, from top to the base of our bracket, we're sitting at about three and three quarters inches tall. And then the depth from the end of our heat sinks to the front of our light, we're sitting about two and three eighths inches deep. Now this light does draw high current, so it requires adequately sized wiring for safe operation. So if you're not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, you do want to use wire that's sized at 16 gauge or higher. Now we do offer this light without the bracket, and then we do offer these lights as a pair with the brackets or without the brackets.
